First Year Experiences
Your first year in college is a time of rapid change and new experiences.
First-Year Student Services is here to help you become familiar with
Youngstown State University, build confidence, develop direction, and
identify opportunities that will give you an edge in achieving your
educational and social goals. A peer assistant can be assigned to you
to provide information and referrals, offer support, and teach you
about activities that will make the educational system work for you.
The GOALS (Gaining Opportunity to Achieve Learning Success) program
was created to offer you the resources to successfully guide you through
your first academic experiences at Youngstown State University.
