Dr. Zewde is seeking a volunteer (work study or academic credit possible) to participate in a longitudinal study of association between biocide use in pig production and Salmonella.  The study will involve mainly isolating the bacteria, testing for antibiotic resistance, DNA extriction and fingerprinting. 

Qualified students should have an interest in bacteriolgic study.  Great motivation, flexibility in schedule and true commitment are required.  This work may enable the student to conduct side projects and present at meetings and potentially be co-author in scientific journals.
