PostersTip: How to Prepare a Poster

Each student who participated in the Glenn-Stokes Internship Program must present a poster at the Ohio Forum.

All Glenn-Stokes scholars are required to present posters. All other students who wish to participate in the poster session are encouraged to do so.

Any student interested in presenting a poster, must supply our office with the title of the presentation, name of principle researcher and contributing researchers, name of institution where the research was performed.

Poster Session Dress Code
Appropriate dress for the Ohio Student Research Forum is business casual for both men and women. Men should wear dress slacks, either black, brown, tan or grey. Women should wear either slacks or skirt with a blouse. Tennis shoes and shorts are inappropriate for a professional conference.

Poster Board Assignments
Each student will receive their poster board assignment and presentation time at check-in. Push pins or thumb tacks will be needed to attach poster to the display board. OSEA will provide push pins but students may want to bring their own in case demand exceeds supply. Maximum poster dimensions are 4' wide X 4' high.

Poster Presentations
The posters will be presented in two sessions with one-hour rotations. Each session will contain a combination of Science and Engineering posters. Each student will be assigned one hour and fifteen minutes when he or she is required to stand with the poster.

Poster Printing

It is strongly recommended that students have their posters printed and ready to post upon arrival at Ohio State. Printing posters at the last possible minute is not an option. Uniprint, the campus printer, does provide this service but these jobs require at least 48 hours notice.

Oral Presentations

Glenn-Stokes seniors are required to present the results of their research orally on Friday, August 8. Other students are also invited to present their research, but since time is limited, selection of presenters will be made on a competitive basis. Students will be notified by July 27 if they have been selected to present their research.

If you would like to volunteer, please indicate your intent on your registration form. LCD projectors and laptop computers will be available for your presentation.
