Background
Low back pain, is a prevalent health problem in today’s society. The problem is especially prevalent amongst heavy machine operators. Heavy machine operators being people employed as forklift, truck, crane, bulldozer, or any other heavy load bearing vehicle, drivers. In past studies, an association between the vibration caused by these machines, and postural loads placed on their operator, and their operators back health has been studied.

Objectives
Determine if there is an association between whole body vibration and or awkward body positions in lower back outcomes among heavy equipment operators.

Methods
In order to asses associations found in prior studies, a comprehensive search of databases yielded seven epidemiological studies that addressed musculoskeletal disorders. The studies were critically appraised using epidemiological principles and a meta analysis was performed to quantify the association between lower back pain and heavy equipment operation.

Results
So far critical appraisal and meta analyses of studies pertaining to fork lift operation has been undertaken. Results will be completed and fully reported.
