Mentoring
Financial Aid and Job Placement Assistance is an important
component of MEP's support services. A number of financial
aid opportunities are available such as the Affirmative Action Award
(A3) scholarship as well as various industry sponsored scholarships.
The MEP staff also works with the Placement and Co-op Offices as well
as with individual company representatives to place minority students
in summer internships, co-ops, and permanent positions. Further, MEP
maintains an active résumé file of minority students
and also assists students in preparing their résumés.

purpose of the OMA Mentoring Program is to assist in preparing
students for
an appropriate post-baccalaureate option (graduate school,
professional school, or direct entry into the workforce). Students
are matched with mentors with a similar academic or professional
background, First year or transfer students are matched with Professional
Mentors
(faculty, staff, graduate students, or professionals from the community)
and or with Peer mentors (upperclassmen).
