Campus-Based Academic Support Programs

Research Experiences

The Student Achievement in Research and Scholarship (STARS) program is a faculty mentoring and research initiative designed to increase the pool of underrepresented students entering Ohio's graduate schools and ultimately academic careers. The program introduces you to research-oriented experiences to facilitate your awareness of the linkage between research, graduate school and academic careers. It also provides close faculty-student working relationships and enhances your communication and research skills necessary for success in graduate school. STARS students must have sophomore or junior standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Students receive stipend to support research projects and present their research at the annual statewide STARS conference.
